Behind the art - get to know me
Hello, and welcome to my blog! I'm delighted to have you here. My name is Julianne Kay, and I’m a wife and mother to three energetic young boys. We are an adventurous family that loves being outdoors - whether it’s skiing, hiking, or exploring the mountains, we love the adventure. These outdoor escapades also provide me with endless inspiration for my work. I love to paint the serene landscapes we encounter and I have a special appreciation for those peaceful, quiet moments. These moments have been the inspiration behind many of my paintings. Capturing the essence of the places I have been and bringing those calming scenes to peoples homes is so special to me.
Art has always been a part of my life, but it wasn't until recently that I fully embraced painting as my artistic outlet. As a self-taught acrylic artist, I've found painting to be a therapeutic and fulfilling outlet. While being a mother to young boys is very busy, I am committed to nurturing my creative spirit and have been dedicating precious moments to my art.
With my boys now attending school full-time, I've been able to pursue my dreams of establishing an art business. As I approach my websites first anniversary, I am so proud of overcoming my fears and embracing the support of my friends and family. It’s been an exciting year and I have learned so much. I’m looking forward to continuing my artistic journey that is filled with anticipation, challenges and endless possibilities.
One of the highlights on my horizon is the upcoming Mini Masterpiece Art show in Calgary on April 27. I'm thrilled to announce that ten of my paintings will be featured alongside the works of thirty talented local artists. It's an honor and a privilege to be part of such a wonderful and supportive artistic community. I’m grateful for this opportunity!
Thank you for being part of this journey—I'm excited to share my art and stories with you! Stay tuned for more behind-the-scenes glimpses, artistic insights, and updates on my upcoming projects.
Warm regards,
Julianne
