Meet Julianne

Julianne Kay is a Calgary-based acrylic artist inspired by the quiet beauty of the landscapes around her. Her paintings explore light, colour and memory, with a particular love for expansive prairie fields, distant mountains, and atmospheric skies.

Rather than creating a landscape exactly as it appears, Julianne is interested in capturing how a place feels. She is drawn to those quiet moments in nature that make you slow down, notice the light and take a breath. She hopes to bring that feeling into the homes of the people who collect her work.

Julianne began painting in high school and returned to it after the pandemic, eventually turning a creative outlet into a growing artistic practice. She holds a Bachelor of Communication from the University of Calgary. Her work has been exhibited in group shows including the Square Foot Show, Sweet 16 and Calgary Art Community exhibitions, and is held in private collections across Canada and the United States.

Outside the studio, Julianne is a wife and mother to three boys, and her home is shared with a beloved dog. She has always loved interiors and believes art is one of the things that makes a home feel personal… a way to bring colour, memory and emotion into the spaces where we live.
